About the Event
Join us for a five-part DE&I series offered through SWE's Advanced Learning Center. We will be streaming the webinar together from 6-7:30 PM. Discussions will take place at frequent intervals during the webinar to make it more interactive.
In this introductory session, participants will build a common vocabulary for different kinds of diversity in the workplace and learn the business case for DEI. Participants will also explore the DEI Maturity Curve, distinguishing between the progressive steps that organizations go through in fostering a work environment where diverse groups of people belong and thrive. Participants will determine where they are, individually, in the D&I journey and what diversity business case benefits are most relevant at SWE.
This session also explores cutting-edge research by Deloitte on six fundamental traits of leaders that foster diversity on their teams. These traits – The 6 Cs – allow leaders to engage more effectively with a wide range of people and access a broader spectrum of ideas and perspectives, which can improve team decision-making, a sense of team safety, and the ability to innovate.
