About the Event
Join us for a five-part DE&I series offered through SWE's Advanced Learning Center. We will be streaming the webinar together from 6-7:30 PM. Discussions will take place at frequent intervals during the webinar to make it more interactive.
Today, fostering DE&I – and interrupting bias – is everyone’s job. Underscored by research, this session lays a foundation in understanding how much bias impacts everyday decisions — not just on a conscious basis, but to a much greater extent, on an unconscious basis. Biases explored include Affinity bias; Attribution Error; Availability bias; Confirmation bias; Gender biases; and Social comparison bias.
Equipped with tools that boost awareness and action, this session will provide strategies for recognizing and disrupting unconscious bias. These “bias alternatives” are critical to making better, more informed decisions and are particularly important in building cultures where people with differences can work together and thrive.
