About the Event
Come learn about wines of the Santa Clara Valley, Santa Cruz hills, and Central Coast areas - the grapes that are grown here, the terroir that they are famous for, and the types of wine that are made here.Â
Additionally, we will go over the basics of tasting wine with two different wines - be sure to check your email for a list of wines to purchase.Â
If you don't want to buy specific wines, that's ok too. The information you learn about wine tasting can apply across the board to all wines!
This event will be lead by Kathy Telford, wine enthusiast:
Kathy Telford started her career as a journalist, moved on to scientific editor and writer, eventually teacher, and then found wine and decided to blend all of her interests and become a wine educator. That wine journey began with some home winemaking followed by years of courses in enology and viticulture combined with hospitality classes on the side and a love of history. Today, she works at a Livermore Valley Winery and likes to talk all things WINE - the wine itself, the history of wines in California, wine regions, wine necessities (or not!) - 'do I need the right glass'?, and wine pairing 'what wine goes with my dinner'? Most of all she simply enjoys the expierences that come with sharing wine.Â
