About the Event

As we reflect on the Engineers Week Creating the Future theme, February 19-25, and the World Engineering Day theme Engineering Innovation on, March 4, we are reaching out to SVEC members and engineering professional societies in Silicon Valley. Founded in 1989, the Silicon Valley Engineering Council is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization and is an umbrella organization serving several member and affiliate professional societies representing thousands of engineers, scientists, and technologists in Silicon Valley providing outreach to education and the community. With the pandemic situation improving, the SVEC Board of Directors has resumed activities and been actively planning the Engineers Week Banquet on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Computer History Museum.  A chance to connect with colleagues, friends, and engineering professionals in Silicon Valley! The SVEC honors outstanding individuals for their contributions by welcoming them into its Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame ceremony recognizes local engineers for their outstanding professional achievements, both in engineering and technology, and for significant contributions to the community. This year's Hall of Fame Inductee is Dr. William J. Dally (read more in link), Chief Scientist and Senior Vice President of Research at NVIDIA Corporation and a Professor (Research) and former chair of Computer Science at Stanford University. The banquet will also feature a distinguished keynote speaker, education (scholarships) awards to students for academic excellence, Discover-E, and Keeper of the Flame Awards. To be able to make this event happen, we need your help to purchase banquet tickets, sponsor a table, donate to the scholarships, Keeper of the Flame, or general SVEC expenses. We recognize ticket prices are higher than in the past. Likely you understand that given how much food and event costs have risen in past three years. We are doing our best to keep it an outstanding event and minimize costs. See Banquet Announcement Flyer and Sponsor Fact Sheet for more information.Register NowIn addition, we have continued to expand on our Member Development Program, by posting the events from our member organizations and other local groups on the SVEC Website HomePage. This helps SVEC members across different technical groups to benefit from other events. We would like to invite all member organizations to participate in this program and share their events. https://www.svec.org/ Thank you for your continued support of SVEC!
