SWENext is a free program for K-12 students. Volunteering to support SWENext is a great way to get involved and encourage students of all ages to learn more about STEM. Learn more.
About Lori:
Lori Kahn is a Systems Engineering and Integration Manager at Lockheed Martin Space, where she has
supported various advanced technical programs for 27 years. She has a BA from Smith College in
Physics/Astronomy, a Master of Science from Arizona State University in Physics and a certificate from
Stanford University in Spacecraft Design and Operation Proficiency.
Lori is the co-lead Mentor and SWENext club counselor for FIRST Robotics Team 2813 and 2022 Woodie
Flowers Finalist recipient. For TechWomen, a US State department-sponsored exchange program, she has
mentored multiple women from Central Asia, Africa, and the Middle East for 7 years. Within the Society
of Women Engineers, Lori has presented on Inclusion/Bias, K-12 Outreach, and Systems Thinking
at conferences. Serving the SWE Outreach Committee, she led the Invent It Build It Middle School room at
WE22, which required Role Models Matter training that her focus group produced in 2021.
