About the Event
Join Rebecca Pinnell as she teaches a virtual cocktail class aimed to help you create cocktails in your home with depth and balance. Added below is a “shopping” list detailing ingredients and tools that you can gather to have ready at the start of class. We will be making the cocktails step by step, at the same time together. This virtual class has been designed to be engaging, entertaining, and full of tips on how to continue to make delicious cocktails in your home.
To celebrate cocktails and fall, Rebecca will guide us through crafting a pomegranate ‘appletini’ and hot toddy. For the pomegranate ‘appletini’ we will make a green apple syrup to pair with the bright tartness of pomegranate juice (which can be found near the kombuchas in the refrigerated section at the grocery store). This sour will be delicious when made with vodka, gin, white rum, blanco tequila. For the hot toddy Rebecca recommends using cloves and star anise to bring some beautiful warming spices to this cocktail, and has offered other spice suggestions below. We will make a larger portion of this perfect cool weather cocktail for you to enjoy after class. The hot toddy will be delicious when made with bourbon, rye, brandy, blended scotch, aged rum or reposado tequila.

Hot Toddy Ingredients:
Choose one: rye, bourbon, brandy, blended scotch, aged rum or reposado tequila
1 lemon
1 orange
1 black tea bag
Small piece fresh ginger
¼ cup honey
Glass of room temperature water
Choose two:
2 star anise
6 cloves
1 cinnamon stick or ground cinnamon
Ground allspice
Hot Toddy Tools:
Measuring device -Jigger, or 1 tbsp & ¼ cup
Measuring cups and spoons
Handheld juicer
Vegetable peeler
Knife & cutting board
Saucepan with lid
Wooden spoon
1 small glass to juice citrus into
1 hot beverage cup per person
Pomegranate Appletini Ingredients:
Ice- 2 cups
Choose one: vodka, gin, white rum, blanco tequila
Pomegranate juice (refrigerated near kombucha)
1 lime per person
1 orange
1 green apple
Granulated sugar
Salt
Water
Pomegranate Appletini Tools:
Measuring device -Jigger, or 1 tbsp & ¼ cup
Measuring cups and spoons
Cocktail shaking tin -or mason jar, tupperware or wide mouth water bottle
Mason jar with lid -or tight sealing tupperware
Cocktail straining tool (hawthorne) -or wooden spoon
Fine mesh strainer Handheld juicer
Muddler- substitute wooden spoon
Knife & cutting board
2 small glasss to juice citrus into 1 martini or coupe* per person
*place in freezer before the start of class
